New Laws relating to Community Colleges

Three new laws took effect in California on January 1st, 2015.

 AB1942 requires the ACCJC to report to the Legislature every two years about policy changes that would affect the accreditation process and accreditation status of a community college.  

Assembly Concurrent Resolution 95 which prohibits community colleges from reducing part-time teacher workloads to disqualify them from health coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

AB 2295 extends the length of time to three years, that part-time community college faculty members can transfer unused sick leave from a previous employer to a new employer.
